Schlierkamp Gunter (Gunter Schlierkamp), nicknamed the Gentle Giant (The Gentle Giant) was born on February 2, 1970, near Dusseldorf, in Germany. Over the next 2 years Gunter Schlierkamp trained hard, and in 1992 took part in the European championship. He achieved the title of European champion. In the same year he won the German championship. In 1993 he was awarded the title of "Mr. universe".
