Biography

April 2, 1867 in königsberg (now Russian Kaliningrad) was born the father of modern bodybuilding Eugene Sandow, who is known as Eugene Sandow. Real name Eugene Friedrich Wilhelm müller. Being very frail and prone to constant illnesses a child, a student, Friedrich became interested in anatomy and physical education, which gave him the opportunity, thanks to exhausting training and gymnastics, to develop your muscles, buy excellent strength and good health.

At 18 years of age Frederick left Prussia, in order not to get into the army, and traveled around Europe. Soon he chooses the path of a circus performer and a new name — Eugene Sandow. In addition to numbers demonstrate remarkable strength and beauty of the male body, Eugene is a circus fight and gained popularity, as a person, which is impossible to overcome. Physical strength at all times is of great interest, the performances of strongmen and wrestlers always gathered full stadiums. Sandow made the right decision by choosing her path of this path. Eugene was the husband of Blanche Brooks, who bore him two daughters, but his marriage broke up because of complex relations with his wife. After his death 14 Oct 1925 wifehe was buried in a modest grave without having even a headstone.
A stone slab installed at the grave of him in 2002 at the initiative of the followers of Sandow.

Since 1977 in the main competition in bodybuilding "Mr. Olympia" winner solemnly handed the bronze statue of Eugene Sandow.
